Discussion
Gideon had an army of 32,000-foot soldiers marching on to war against the army of Midian. Gideon was ready to go to war with this large army, but God had different plans. God gave Gideon an instruction on strategies to cut down the army. Gideon had 32,000 soldiers, but God needed only 300 men. The process of cutting down the army must have been alarming to Gideon. Imagine already being afraid to march out with 32,000 soldiers, then God says cut the number down to 300 soldiers. If you weren't sure of victory with 32,000 soldiers, what hope do you have with only 300 soldiers? But that's where God's ways differ from men's. With a larger number, there was the temptation to attribute victory to the size of your army. But when victory comes against all odds, you know IT CAN ONLY BE GOD! Some of the things you're going through right now is God cutting out everything and everyone that would want to take the coming glory. You lost jobs; somebody left you; people disappointed you; they promised and failed you...etc. do not despair dear saint, you thought you needed 32,000 people, but God only needs 300.
You thought you needed all those people, but God needs just your heart of faith. The people God sends to you are the people you need. The people you are pursuing here and there are usually the people you don't need. Sometimes we spend too much energy trying to keep what God is removing from our lives. In the words of Bishop T D Jakes; " If people can walk out of your life, LET THEM WALK!" Stop begging people to stay. Even concerning the kingdom, there's the place for follow up and seeking out the deviating brother, but there's also the place for God to cut off the false brethren from His church; 1John.2.19; "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.". Never forget this counsel today, God does not need all you think you need; all God needs to bring about that miracle you desire is your heart of faith. It's from here divine instructions and connections will come. You don't need 32,000, all you need is 300. Shalom Uvracha!
