Devils thrive in an environment of fear. To succeed against you they need to get you to be afraid. Oh, if you would understand this today, you'd be permanently free from their assault. Fear comes by information. Satan has to get terrible information to you in order to get you to fear. In our opening verse, Nehemiah and his fellows were busy trying to rebuild the broken walls around Jerusalem. As soon as their enemies, Sanballat and Tobiah saw that Nehemiah was succeeding, they sent words to Nehemiah to inspire fear in him. They knew that once fear came in, the work of rebuilding the walls would stop. Fear is a stopper. Thank God Nehemiah refused to listen to them. He refused to entertain fear, instead he prayed even more, and soon the walls were completely rebuilt. Neh 6:9; "They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, "Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed." But I prayed, "Now strengthen my hands."NIV. It's the same strategy he used against king Hezekiah and his people. Sennacherib, king of Syria, wanted to overrun Hezekiah the king of Judah. To guarantee victory, he tried to bring fear upon all of Judah by sending Rab-shakeh to terrorize Judah with fearful words. Hear him; 2Kgs.18.29-30; "This is what the king says: Don't let King Hezekiah deceive you. He will never be able to rescue you from my power. Don't let him fool you into trusting in the LORD...'NLT. Why didn't he simply invade Judah? Why did he take time instead to speak to them? Because he wanted them to be afraid. A people afraid make easy prey. It's the same strategy Satan used against Job. He made job afraid of losing his family; Job3:25; "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me." Satan had no access to him until he was afraid. To keep him afraid, Satan ensured there was one survivor in each of Job's calamity to bear the evil report to Job. As long as Job kept hearing the bad news, fear continued to be fed, and Satan continued to strike. Listen here, do not feed fear! On the internet, social media, news channels, etc, refuse to accommodate information that feeds fear. Devils are sniffer dogs for fear. They'll sniff it out and use it to their advantage against you. Surround yourself with faith inspiring material. It doesn't matter what you're going through, if you would have faith in God, and do not doubt in your heart, you will come out victorious. Your healing is sure; positive result is sure; progress is sure! Have faith in God! Feed your faith and starve your fears. Shalom Uvracha!
