DON'T BE A FOOL

Nobody likes to be called a fool. Most people consider it an insult to be called a fool. But the bible doesn't consider it an insult but rather a character description. So, a fool is one who behaves foolishly. One of such foolish behavior is mentioned in our opening scripture in contrast to the behaviour of one who is considered wise. Prov12:16; "A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult."NIV. If you easily lose your temper or you're quick to show your annoyance when someone provokes you, the bible says you're a fool. Sometimes we boast about how we easily we get angry, and how much we can't stand nonsense, blah blah blah; the long story made short is this; you're a fool if you easily get annoyed. It doesn't matter how anointed you are or how successful you think you are in life, or how rich you are; if you're easily annoyed at the slightest provocation, then you're a fool...an anointed successful rich fool. On the other hand, the bible says the prudent man/wise man, overlooks an insult. The bible is not implying that you never air your displeasure or never communicate your dissatisfaction on any matter. That'll be ridiculous. Wouldn't it? Jesus himself expressed His displeasure more than once as recorded in the Gospels (Matthew 21:12, Mark 11:13-17). The issue therefore is when you have allowed yourself to be a regular practitioner of anger. A professional offended fellow. Like they'll say in Nigeria; "na small thing they always vex you". If this is you, you need to repent today before you destroy God's divine best for you. Man's anger never promotes God's righteousness. Jas.1:19-20; "Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry. For man 's anger does not promote the righteousness God [wishes and requires]."AMP. Therefore, be wise enough to discern insults you must ignore. Sometimes, these insults and provocations are distractions from the devil to keep you from running your race. Don't be a fool!
