GET INTO THE NEW

Many times, in life, you will have to get rid of the old in order to embrace the new. Sometimes, it's not because the old has become bad or unprofitable, but because that's the only way for the new to come in. That's what our opening verse says. Lev.26.10; "You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new.” NKJV. While you're eating the old, the new will be beckoning to be let in, therefore the old will have to go to make space for the new. This is a parable of some sort. In Paul's day, he said something in this respect. Phil 3:13; "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,". As Saul, he had so much going for him; a pharisee, a zealous adherent to the laws, a self-righteous persecutor of the church, respected by the leaders of his day. But after an encounter with Jesus, he had to let go of all these in order to embrace God's best for him.

As a believer, Paul pressed forward and continued to experience greater revelation of the purposes of God and the miraculous display of God's power in ever increasing measure. Sometimes, we hang on to the past so much that it corrupts the present and hinders the future. A job that was a miracle in the past can become a stumbling block in the present. You will have to grow in the wisdom required to discern when God has moved. When He moves, you move! If you remain where God used to be, you will miss what He is currently doing. For some reading this today, a particular job has become the hinderance to the new. A relationship you're in has become the old that has to go for the new to come but you're holding on to it with the expectation that it'll graduate into marriage. But if you're going to be honest with yourself, you'll agree that God has moved forward but you're stuck in the past. It's time to let go of the old in order for the new to come in. And you know what? You most times have to let go of the old first before the new can come. For everything you have ever achieved in life, there is more. Celebrate and give thanks for current victories, but remember there's more. In your heart, build an altar of memorial at the point of each victory. This serves as a point of perpetual thanksgiving and encouragement as you press on for more.God has more for you, never let the past (good or bad) stop you from reaching out for God's best for you.
