GIVING YOUR LIFE TO CHRIST

Discussion

One common question we hear believers ask people today is; "Have you given your life to Christ?" In reality, the unbeliever has no life to give to Christ. It is Christ who gives us His life. We became born again by receiving the life of Christ. It's called eternal life. 1John.5.11-13; "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life..." Read this also; John.5.24-25; "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live." See that? You were dead. You didn't give Him your life. You received His life; eternal life. The problem is that many who have received eternal life still live as though they belong to this world. In a sense, they have received Christ's life but they have not submitted to His Lordship; they choose to live their own lives. Therefore, the one who should give his life to Christ is the one who has already believed and received eternal life. He should no longer live according to the dictates of the flesh but according to the Spirit of life. Read Gal.2.20AMP and 2Cor 5:15. Don't be like those who claim to be born again but go ahead and worship the idols of money, sexual immorality, ungodly pleasures etc. God is not pleased with those who proclaim Christ but remain friends of this world; 2Kgs.17.33; "And though they worshiped the LORD, they continued to follow the religious customs of the nations from which they came."NLT 2Kgs.17.41; "So while these new residents worshiped the LORD, they also worshiped their idols. And to this day their descendants do the same."NLT. These people were eventually destroyed as would everyone who tries to live however they like. Take heed. You cannot claim to have eternal life and live carnally. If you have received His life, now it's time to give your life to Christ. Gal.5.25 - If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]. Shalom!
