"If I have been delivered, why am I going through this problem?". "If God has healed me, why am I still feeling the pains?" "If God has answered my prayers, why am I still in so much lack?" These are legitimate questions dear believers ask daily. Make no mistake about it, the gorgeous attires adorned by many on Sundays do a great job of covering the pains, heart aches and questions in the hearts of people. The bible tells us of a man called Gideon who had similar questions. There's much to learn from his experience with God. The angel of God appeared to Gideon and addressed him as 'thou mighty man of valour, the Lord is with you.'. This baffled Gideon. How could the Lord be with him if he and his family and the entire Israel were slaves of the Midianites. Fear and oppression plagued the land, and his family had it worse being little and poor. Judg.6:13; "Sir," Gideon replied, "if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? And where are all the miracles our ancestors told us about? Didn't they say, `The LORD brought us up out of Egypt'? But now the LORD has abandoned us and handed us over to the Midianites."NLT. I've heard of God's miracles. I've read about God's powerful works in people's lives. I hear these testimonies daily.
But why isn't it happening to me? This was Gideon's question. God doesn't respond to him with an explanation...but with an instruction based on a revelation. Read Judg.6.14-16NLT. The LORD said to him, "I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man." Glory! An explanation of your woes does not empower you for success. What you need is a divine instruction from the place of divine revelation.
The angel of God revealed 3 things to Gideon that day;
(1) You are a mighty man.
(2) I am with you.
(3) I have commanded you to destroy Midian.
This is what God referred to as 'Go in this thy might'. Go in the strength of the revelation you have received. This is God's instruction to you today. Don't gripe and sulk, get up and go in this revelation, for you shall smite Midian as one man. It doesn't matter what has/hasn't happen before now, if you would go in the revelation of who God says you are and what He says you should do, you will come back with great testimonies.
