“"I have said, Ye are gods; And all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes.."”
Psalms 82: 6 -7
Discussion
Can you believe the word of God? Can you accept the truth in the Scriptures? Can you imagine what would happen if we all believed whatever God said. God Himself is speaking here, saying He has called us gods. Why? Because we are His offspring, His very own children. Therefore, we carry His very DNA. We are exactly like Him, in image and in fashion. My God! What manner of love is this! (1John 3:1). Yet, a lot of us walk on in darkness; in confusion, depression, sickness and oppression.
You can almost feel God's displeasure in these verses. He has invested so much in us through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus in order to give birth to a Creation that is of His very nature (2Cor 5:17, 1Cor 6:17, 2Peter 1:4). His expectation is that we function like Him. Oh what dissatisfaction He must feel when He sees you oppressed by the devil. Oh what dissatisfaction He must endure when He sees you bound by habits you should be master over. He goes on to say that the ignorance of who we truly are is what makes gods die like men.
Understand this; the Scripture is telling us that the natural man has a characteristic; DEATH. But gods, being eternal Beings do not have this characteristic. Hallelujah! It is not characteristic of gods to die. For men, death is like a state of matter. A state where because of the prevailing situation they remain hopelessly separated from God. It is not so for gods. For a god (sons of God), what you call death is simply a verb; an action, hallelujah! Just like jumping, or running, or walking through a door. He simply steps through a portal into a dimension of unfathomable peace and joy in the Father. As a Christian, this is why you should never walk in fear, but be bold, courageous, always fervent, serving the Lord and walking in dominion over every circumstance. Glory to God!
Confession
I am a son of God. I do not die like men nor do I fall as one of the princes. I am one with the Father for all eternity!
