DISCUSSION:
Oftentimes, we try to impress God with either the length of our prayers or the deepness of our tongues. We also try to impress Him with lengthy fastings or large seed sowing. Sometimes we even think we have impressed God by our Church attendance or participation in a church project. How do you know you're trying to impress God? When you think He owes you something for what you have done, then you know you've been trying to impress God. Excuse me sir/ma....God owes you nothing! Rom.11:35-36; "Or who has first given God anything that he might be paid back or that he could claim a recompense? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. [For all things originate with Him and come from Him; all things live through Him, and all things center in and tend to consummate and to end in Him.] To Him be glory forever! Amen (so be it)."AMP. Therefore, quit trying to impress God. You cannot do anything to 'wow' him. No matter how long your prayers or fastings are, you must do it in humility, recognizing the strength and the grace to be from God. Remember that God's expectation of you is that you believe in the Lord Jesus who rose from the dead, and that you carry out all of your activities on the basis of this free gift of salvation. When certain men asked Jesus what they could do in order to carry out the works of God/score a good mark with God, Jesus' answer opposed their selfish ambitions; John6:28-29; "Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." This further emphasizes our opening verse. God is not impressed with your strength, or your speed, or your abilities and doings. Rather, the Lord our God and Father delights in those who honor him by putting their trust in His unfailing love. This is what impresses God. Thus, strength (personal achievement) does not impress God, rather, weakness (dependence on God) impresses Him. When you impress God this way, you draw His interventions into your predicaments. The Lord comes to the aid of those who trust in Him. Don't put your trust in your sacrifices, put your trust in His own sacrifice on the cross for you and I. Dear saint, whatever you're going through; whatever your desires are; your divine intervention will not come because of how good you are, or the great things you have done. Your divine intervention is coming because you put your trust in the Lord. Breaking News: GOD NEVER FAILS! Shalom Uvracha!
