Man was created to depend on the word of God for his daily sustenance Job.23.12; "...I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food." Physical food was designed to be secondary; Luke 4:4; "And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God." He was created to live on God's word and to enjoy physical food as well. A time came when the equation became distorted and man began to live only on physical food. Until this day, this is the situation of the majority of people. Physical food can only temporarily nourish the body but cannot stop you from dying. Eating the word of God gives you life and eliminates death; John.8.51; "Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death."
In addition, physical food is limited to body nourishing, but the word of God is multidimensional. God's word doesn't only impart life, but also protects, strengthens, empowers, guides, teaches, etc. Hallelujah! Prov.30.5; "Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him." See? God's word to you is pure. The Hebrew word used here is; tsâraph, which literally means 'like metal'. Pure and undefiled like refined metal, strongly unbreakable like steel. Thus, God's word to you can be trusted because it doesn't have the ability to deceive you. You CANNOT lose, trusting in God's word. God's word has no point of weakness. You can stake your life on His Word. Like metal, His word is strong. That's why His word is a shield to everyone who trusts in Him. His word doesn't only impart life on you, His Word also protects you from harm. His word is stronger than the mythical adamantium or vibranium; more powerful than a nuclear bomb and faster than a speeding bullet. If you trust in His word, you'll be indestructible by the devices of both men and demons. By His word, Elisha arrested an entire army (2Kings6:16-21). By His word David killed Goliath, ran through a troop, and leaped over walls (1Sam17/Psalm 18:29). Stop allowing the enemy terrorize you with fear. Trust in the Lord. Have you received His Word?
