Although the pharisees and teachers of the law in Jesus' day were opposed to Jesus, still, Jesus instructed the Jews to obey the words of the teachers of the law and the pharisees. Matt.23.2-3; "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach."NIV. The reason is clear. They were to be obeyed because of Moses's authority. Although they were morally unjust, they were still to be obeyed because they operated by Moses's authority. Their actions were wrong but their authority was right. The question therefore would be; who's seat are believer's seated on today? Eph.2.6; "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,"NIV. We sit on Christ's seat. So if the Jews were commanded to obey the words of the pharisees because of who's authority they functioned with, don't you realize that the demons have been commanded to obey you because of who's authority you function with? Learn something here; it's not about what you do or don't do. The authority is not a personal achievement; it's a divine endowment. We inherited it from Christ. Many believers don't realize that we function by Christ's authority, not your personal authority. So, it doesn't matter how you feel or don't feel, devils are commanded to obey you. They're all subject to the Christ-authority you function with. Next time you encounter a demon or it's filthy agents, cast it out with the authority of Christ in you. It works everytime.
