“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.”
Gal.5.6
Discussion
DISCUSSION:
Many have not realized that the new creation in Christ is a creature of love. He functions by love and everything he does is powered by love. Anything contrary to this produces death and corruption. 1John4:7-8; "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." Dear sons of God, our prayers must never be powered by hate. Sometimes we think God is our personal pitbull. No, He is not! He is not necessarily angry with who you're angry with. He does not necessarily hate who you hate. He is not a mindless robot you can just command to attack whoever you perceive as your enemy. Not at all. Rather, God is your father and Lord, and you pray according to His will; according to His laid down terms. This is why we seem to not be as mature and grounded as our brethren in the first-generation church in the ACTS of the Apostles. They complied; but we redefine. Jesus says 'pray for your enemies'(Matthew 5:43-46), but we say; "pray against your enemies". Jesus says "Give your full attention to the teaching and hearing of the word of God"(Luke 10:39-42), but we say "it's not about the word, it's about power". Jesus says "you received power when you received the Holy Ghost"(Acts 1:8), but we say "you must pray hard until you receive power". Jesus says " you have been delivered and translated"(Col 1:13), but we say "no you're not delivered yet, you still need deliverance". I could go on and on. We seem to be so bent on contradicting Jesus at every turn. We have missed it so much in many areas, especially in the area of prayer. It will take humility for many church leaders to retrace their steps. If we are to be honest with ourselves, we would agree that neither Jesus, nor Paul would pray the kind of prayers we pray today. It's filled with so much hate and evil intentions. We're ever busy praying for people to die or waring against perceived powers. So we're raising people who never take responsibility for their actions but are ever blaming devils and powers. There's too much to say on these matters, but for now I'll stay with this admonition to you; always walk in love. Let love power your prayer and your actions. You can never go wrong walking in love. Remember never to mistake physical and temporary experiences for God's approval or disapproval. The proof of God's approval is obedience to His word. You may suffer physically for obeying God, but that's exactly why we're different from the world. Our affections are set on things above, not on things on this earth. Walk in love; this is the way of sons of God. Shalom Uvracha!
