At the time Hezekiah was King of Judah, Sennacherib, king of Assyria beseiged Jerusalem threatening to over run it. His mighty army was more than Hezekiah's army could handle, so, as expected, the soldiers of Hezekiah's army were afraid. Hezekiah himself was afraid but chose to trust in the lord instead of running in fear. He chose the confession of faith instead of the confession of defeat. He turned to his army and spoke these words; 2Chr 32:7-8; "Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah." Hallelujah! How did he know that there were more with him than there were against him? The answer to this is in his statement; "with them is the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles." This right here is the confession of faith. Hasn't God told you he'd never leave you nor forsake you? (HEB 13:5). Therefore, your response is to boldly declare; "the Lord is my helper, I will never be afraid of man"(HEB 13:6). This is exactly what Hezekiah did, and when he spoke these words, his entire army rested their faith on his words. If you say you have faith, the question is; what's your faith resting on? On your connection? Your network? Your investments? These will all inevitably fail but God's word never fails. Satan will threaten you to try to make you panic and run, just like Sennacherib tried to do to Judah. 2Chr32:18; "Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jews' speech unto the people of Jerusalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city." Satan wants to take over and destroy you, that's why he sends negative words and evil reports to try to get you to fear. You see, fear precedes death/loss. Refuse to fear! Christ has delivered you from the spirit of fear (2Tim 1:7, Heb 2:14-15). Hezekiah chose to rest on God's word, therefore, when he prayed, God answered with a resounding miracle (2Chr32:21). Sennacherib was defeated, went back home in shame, and was killed by his own sons in the temple of his god. Dear saint, your victory in that situation is guaranteed. Only rest on God's word and refuse to fear. Shalom Uvracha!
