Discussion
When you hear the word; Destroyer! What comes to mind? Chaos, pandemonium, death and destruction. Right? For example, John 10:10 speaks of the thief coming to steal, kill and to destroy. Also, in Exodus, the death messenger moved through the entire land of Egypt, killing all the first born of humans and animals. This death messenger was called "The Destroyer" (Exod.12.23). When the Israelites murmured against God in the wilderness, venomous vipers crept out and killed many of them. These deadly snakes were referred to as "The Destroyer" (1Cor.10.10). So, we see that the destroyer represents one who attacks another by cancelling out his victim’s existence or wellbeing. Therefore, to deliver us from being prey or victims of all that is evil, God gave us a superior life called Zoe. This is eternal life (1John5:11), the life of God Himself; a oneness with the God-head (1Cor 6:17) and a partaker of His divine nature (2Peter 1:4). He delivered us out of the influence of the destroyer and transplanted us in the kingdom of the Lord Jesus (Col.1.13). One amazing thing about this Life itself is that it is also a destroyer of all that is evil. In other words, we not only were delivered from the reach of the destroyer (Satan, wicked spirits, sin, death, sicknesses etc), but we received the divine life that destroys sicknesses, death, and all the works of the devil. Hallelujah! When this life comes in contact with diseases for example, it destroys them and makes the person whole.
How do we administer this life? By contact. (Mark 16:18). Jesus instructs you to lay your hands on the sick in order to let Zoe make contact with the disease. The moment Zoe makes contact, it begins to destroy that disease and the person begins to recover. Oftentimes, nothing seems to be happening on the outside, but on the inside, the normal course of that infirmity has been hijacked, and a reversal begins. Recovery is imminent. Contact can also be made through your words. When you speak to the sick or oppressed, life flows and as it comes in contact with the infirmity, it destroys it and the person immediately begins to recover.
Dear saint, you carry in you the demon destroying, sickness annihilating life of God. With this consciousness, go forth, releasing the life in you, destroying every infirmity that holds your loved ones bound. Something happens when you lay your hands. Keep laying those hands.
