DISCUSSION:
Sometimes we forget that God loves us. Sometimes we respond to life's situations as though we do not consider the extent of the Father's love for us. So, let the Holy Spirit remind you today with a brief description of the Father's love for you. God's love for us can be segmented into 3 broad categories. (1) His universal love for all creation. God loves the whole world, and demonstrated His love by giving Himself for the salvation of the world (John 3:16-18). His love for the world brought salvation to mankind. His love for the world also ensures a continuity of seasons, weather, seed time and harvest etc (Matt 5:44-45). (2) His love for His children. God's children are those who love Jesus by believing that He is the son of God and only saviour of the world. The Father loves these because they believe. John 16:27; "For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God." The amazing thing about this category is that the Father loves them as He loves Jesus. They have become the sons of God as Jesus is the son of God. Their believing in Christ has put them in the category of being joint heirs with Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! Let this sink in; the Father loves you as He loves Jesus. John17.23; ".. that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me." The love of God is the reason He answers our prayers; Rom8:32; "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" This is the Father's love for us, even to give us the things we ask Him for. Have faith in God, He'll always grant your request, just as He did for Jesus. (3) The Father loves those who love Him by obeying His word. For this category, He doesn't just grant their requests, He reveals Himself to them and causes all things to work together for their good. Read John 14:21-23 and Romans 8:28. This is a good place to be with God. Here, you can never be disadvantaged in life. What a love! Let the Father's love be the reason for your confident expectations of great things today. Shalom Uvracha!
