“For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.”

DISCUSSION:
The bible speaks about a man of sin who is to seat in God's temple and exalt himself above the very person of God (2Thess 2:4; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.). Whilst most people are busy looking forward to the revealing of the antichrist as that man who'll attain the highest levels of global political influence, they miss the man of sin who is already currently globally ascending the throne of God's temple. The Apostle John tells us that the Antichrist was already at work in his day and still at work today, thus the antichrist is more than just a person but a spiritual ideology that denies or de-emphasizes the Lord ship of Christ (1John2:18). No wonder Paul says "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work.." 2Thess 2:7. The mystery of iniquity was already at work in Paul’s day. The original word for iniquity here is the Greek word; anomia; meaning to depart from the prescribed pattern. So, while people are waiting to see an antichrist persona on the global political landscape, an antichrist is insidiously ascending over God's true throne. Remember, we are now the Temple of God. Right? (1Cor3:16). Therefore, who is this man of sin ascending the Temple of God? His name is ‘Self’. Have you noticed how Self is being directly and indirectly exalted in our assemblies? Our songs and dances are more to entertain ourselves than to worship God. Our prayers are increasingly more about our personal selfish desires and ambitions than they are about God's will. Messages are more about our worldly desires than they are about God's kingdom. Self is being so glorified that the vast majority think that God exists to serve them. He is there to give them husbands/wives, children, cars, jobs, houses, visas, contracts, money...and if He doesn't provide these things quickly enough, they'll withdraw their commitment to Him and find somewhere else where their lusts can be satisfied. How horrible! Wake up now dear child of God! There is one God and you are not him. You were made for Him and not the other way around. He gave you His life and owes you nothing! Rather, you owe Him everything. This isn't to condemn you or bring you under any yoke of bondage. Not at all. But to let you know that Jesus should be the focus of your living; your devotion, consecration, submission and desire should be for Him. Do this and see how refreshing life will be for your spirit. Let's de-throne Self and en-throne Christ in our hearts and in our Assemblies. Shalom!
