“Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.”
Jas.3.10
Discussion
The tongue is a vital muscular organ necessary for eating, tasting, etc. But, the bible reveals a secret unknown to many people. Your tongue was given to you as a tool to drive your life in the desired direction. Jas.3:2; "…those who control their tongues can also control themselves in every other way."NLT Your tongue drives your life. By the tongue we come into the kingdom of God; Rom.10.9-10; "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved." We get into trouble and out of trouble by our tongue; Jas.3.6; "And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is full of wickedness that can ruin your whole life. It can turn the entire course of your life into a blazing flame of destruction, for it is set on fire by hell itself."NLT We are where we are today because of what we said yesterday. Don't speak carelessly, especially when under pressure. Speaking God's mind on this earth; that's the right use of your tongue. Therefore, when you speak blessings today, and speak curses tomorrow, you make a mess of the order of things. Jas.3.10; "Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be." Curses and blessings out of the same mouth? Wrong! There are words that shouldn't come out of a believer’s mouth; Songs and conversations you should never allow into your heart or out of your mouth. They'll corrupt the process of your progress in God's plan. They'll present you as less than God's best in the earth. They'll reduce the glorious light you ought to radiate. Speak only the right words always. Speak only words consistent with God's word. You should never be found speaking differently from how Jesus would speak. Eph.5.4; "Though some tongues just love the taste of gossip, Christians have better uses for language than that. Don't talk dirty or silly. That kind of talk doesn't fit our style. Thanksgiving is our dialect."MSB
Confession
I speak only words consistent with God's word. His will is carried on my lips to my environment. I refuse to ever speak anything less than God's words. Amen!
