DISCUSSION:
Everyone wants to run and not be weary. Everyone wants to walk and not faint. Everyone wants to mount up with wings as eagles. But not many people want to wait on the Lord. Waiting on the Lord is the secret to mounting up with wings as eagles and soaring high in life. Waiting on the Lord is not the same thing as waiting for the Lord. The former implies serving the Lord while the latter implies patience. Both are very important in your walk with God. In order to excel in God's eyes, you must serve patiently. To wait on the lord is very much like the way a waiter waits on you in an exquisite restaurant. He serves you by taking your orders, making you comfortable and ensuring you leave with a satisfactory experience. Likewise, we wait on God by serving him. We offer the sacrifice of praise and Thanksgiving; we obey His word in everything we do; we show forth His praises by manifesting the life of Christ everywhere we go; we actively participate in Kingdom advancement by faithfully participating in the local church. Just like the waiter in a restaurant, our service is not about us, but all about the one we serve. If you're serving God in order to feel good or achieve a selfish status, you're missing the whole point. It's all about Him. Your songs are all about Him. Your words and activities are all about Him. It qualifies as service to God only when it's all about Him. This is the only time the rewards are eternal. As we truly serve Him, we find renewed strength and divine ability. We find we're growing in leaps and bounds. We find we're making progress in life. Waiting on God is the way to live a fulfilled life. Don't let anything in this world ever distract you from faithfully waiting on God. A waiter gets paid by delivering satisfactory service on his job; he even gets tips when his customers are satisfied with his service. The labourer is worthy of his wages (1Timothy 5:18). In everything you do and every choice you make in life, make your waiting on God a priority, and you will see the divine rewards of God overwhelm you. Shalom Uvracha!
